On February 25, 2023, Our Lady of Loretto in Hempstead, New York, welcomed about forty young adults from different parts of New York City, The Bronx, and Long Island for the Motus Christi Young Adult One-Day Retreat. The retreat was led by the Idente Missionaries, who opened the day with a prayer to the Blessed Sacrament and a trisagio to Mother Mary.
The retreat focused on the importance of taking risks in one’s Christian life and following Christ with passion. Father Roland Pereira, M.Id, gave a talk on the topic, and participants were divided into small faith-sharing groups to learn from each other about the willingness to change and follow Christ.
The retreat also included personal testimonies from James Keating and Rebeca Zuniga. After lunch, Sonya Titus from the World Youth Dance Crew taught the group some dance steps from the World Youth Day 2023 theme song. Sister Yerania Galvez, M.Id, gave the second talk on filial consciousness, and both Jonathan and Yerania shared their faith journeys and the grace of the Idente charism in their lives.
