Roma, 15 de septiembre de 2024. Comienza hoy nuestro Capítulo Apostólico, con la dicha de saber que todos los hermanos y hermanas del mundo y muchas personas de buena voluntad ruegan por nosotros.
De manera que nos corresponde hacernos esta pregunta: ¿De qué nuevas maneras puedo alimentar a mis hermanos? ¿Qué nuevo testimonio tengo que dar? ¿Cómo vivir con Cristo el signo de sentido de empresa, como dice nuestro padre Fundador? Tal como hacen hoy con nosotros nuestros hermanos y hermanas en el mundo, traigámosles a nuestro corazón, dediquemos a ellos lo mejor de nosotros.
A continuación, ponemos a vuestra disposición las palabras de la homilía de nuestro Presidente, P. Luis Casasús Latorre en la Celebración Eucarística de apertura de este acto de gobierno, para implorar la gracia de la comunión y la purificación: que se haga realidad en nosotros, especialmente en quienes han sido llamados a gobernar en cualquier ámbito, la conclusión de la Segunda Lectura: Yo, por las obras, te probaré mi fe.

Rome, September 15, 2024. Today we begin our Apostolic Chapter with the joy of knowing that all the brothers and sisters of the world and many people of good will are praying for us.
So it behooves us to ask ourselves this question: In what new ways can I nourish my brothers and sisters? What new witness do I have to give? How can I live with Christ the sign of a sense of enterprise, as our Father Founder says? As our brothers and sisters in the world are doing with us today, let us bring them into our hearts, let us dedicate the best of ourselves to them.
Below you can read the words of the homily of our President, Father Luis Casasús Latorre, Luis Casasús Latorre’s homily at the opening Eucharistic Celebration, to implore the grace of communion and purification: that the conclusion of the Second Reading may become a reality in us, especially in those who have been called to govern in any field: I will prove my faith to you by works. We commend ourselves to the supplication of all the missionaries and friends of the Idente Family.

¿Quién dicen ustedes que soy yo? No es una pregunta de examen sobre los conocimientos de la identidad de Jesús, sino un medio para que los discípulos reconozcamos que la imagen, la idea que tenemos de Cristo y también del Padre y del Espíritu Santo, es algo siempre insuficiente, pues Dios no cabe en muestra pobre inteligencia.
En realidad, la pregunta es más bien sobre nosotros: ¿Por qué me siguen? O, dicho de otra manera: ¿Hasta dónde quieren ir conmigo?
Esa motivación, el por qué seguimos a Cristo, no sólo cambia de una persona a otra, lo cual es natural, sino que va cambiando en cada uno de nosotros. Por eso, sentimos en nuestra mente el efecto de la Purificación Transverberativa; cuando vivimos una cierta unión con las Personas Divinas, el Espíritu Santo purifica nuestra visión limitada y, de muchas maneras, nos dice: Soy más.
Lo hace como Cristo hoy con Pedro. Me has seguido y para ello has dejado muchas cosas buenas, sobre todo la posibilidad de recibir amor de personas que te estiman, pero te pido aún más: hay una forma de dejar tu vida entera, que es cargar la cruz, la que es tuya.
Esto no significa hacer lo que tantas personas heroicas hacen cada día, dando su vida por los hijos, por su familia o por una idea noble. Supone tomar riesgos. En particular el amar de una forma peligrosa, a personas que tal vez no sean agradecidas, en las que no veamos el efecto o el cambio esperado.
Es difícil encontrar un ejemplo más claro que los Fundadores. Como tantas veces nos decía nuestro padre Fundador, él siempre anhelaba vivir una intimidad con las Personas Divinas, comenzando por nuestro Padre celestial; pero la Providencia tenía otros planes, que exigían, literalmente, acabar con esa forma de vida espiritual que él había soñado.
En aquellos que se disponen a vivir así, se cumple la experiencia de San Pablo: Ya no vivo yo, es Cristo quien vive en mí (Gal 2: 20). Estas palabras no son una bonita metáfora, sino algo que el prójimo contempla con sorpresa diciendo: No es la misma persona que conocí; todo en ella ha cambiado. Algunas veces dirán lo mismo que la familia de Jesús: Está loco(Jn 10: 20).
Lejos de referirse a la decisión de seguir una cierta vocación religiosa, se trata de un proceso continuo, de un cambio permanente visible en nuevos y siempre creativos actos de generosidad.
Hablando con un peregrino de la Ruta Jacobea, llegamos a la convicción de que el fruto más palpable, la marca más clara del Espíritu Santo en la persona fiel es que la hace capaz de vivir una forma de misericordia siempre nueva, lo que recuerda al don de piedad, llegando a ofrecer mi mejilla y mi espalda a los que me golpean, como dice la Primera Lectura. Son formas de perdonar con la palabra, con el silencio, con un gesto o con un pensamiento, que antes no se me habían ocurrido.
El comprobar que esto es verdad, que es una realidad más allá de nuestras pobres fuerzas y virtudes, provoca una alegría inigualable, que bien puede ser llamada Beatitud.

Supliquemos en esta Eucaristía, ser purificados, que se haga realidad en nosotros, especialmente en quienes han sido llamados a gobernar en cualquier ámbito, la conclusión de la Segunda Lectura: Yo, por las obras, te probaré mi fe.
Roguemos que nuestras obras de cada día demuestren que no pretendemos ser de este mundo, que hoy teme más que nunca la muerte, pero no teme la muerte eterna, como recordaba Benedicto XVI, no teme a quien puede destruir no sólo el cuerpo, sino el alma(Mt 10: 28).
Gracias a todos y un domingo lleno de paz, en el abrazo sereno y confiado de la cruz.

Who do you say that I am? It is not an examination question about the knowledge of the identity of Jesus, but a means for the disciples to recognize that the image, the idea that we have of Christ and also of the Father and the Holy Spirit, is always insufficient, because God does not fit in our poor intelligence.
In reality, the question is rather about us: Why do you follow me? Or, to put it another way: How far do you want to go with me?
That motivation, why we follow Christ, not only changes from one person to another, which is natural, but it is changing in each one of us. Therefore, we feel in our mind the effect of the Transverberative Purification; when we live a certain union with the Divine Persons, the Holy Spirit purifies our limited vision and, in many ways, tells us: I am more.
He does so as Christ does today with Peter. You have followed me and for this you have left many good things, above all the possibility of receiving love from people who esteem you, but I ask you even more: there is a way to leave your whole life, which is to carry the cross, the one that is yours.
This does not mean doing what so many heroic people do every day, giving their lives for their children, for their family or for a noble idea. It means taking risks. In particular loving in a dangerous way, loving people who may not be grateful, in whom we may not see the effect or the change expected.
It is difficult to find a clearer example than the Founders. As our father Founder told us so many times, he always longed to live an intimacy with the Divine Persons, beginning with our heavenly Father; but Providence had other plans, which demanded, literally, to put an end to that form of spiritual life that he had dreamed of.
In those who are ready to live in this way, St. Paul’s experience is fulfilled: It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Gal. 2:20). These words are not a nice metaphor, but something that the neighbor contemplates with surprise saying: He is not the same person I knew; everything in him has changed. Sometimes they will say the same as Jesus’ family: He is mad (Jn 10: 20).
Far from referring to the decision to follow a certain religious vocation, it is a continuous process, a permanent change visible in new and always creative acts of generosity.
Speaking with a pilgrim on the Way of St. James, we came to the conviction that the most palpable fruit, the clearest mark of the Holy Spirit in the faithful person is that it makes him or her capable of living an ever new form of mercy, which is reminiscent of the gift of piety, going so far as to offer my cheek and my back to those who strike me, as the First Reading says. These are ways of forgiving with words, with silence, with a gesture or a thought, which had never occurred to me before.
To see that this is true, that it is a reality beyond our poor strength and virtues, provokes an incomparable joy, which can well be called Beatitude.

My prayer today cannot be the same as yesterday, just as the love of Christ, his trust in me, is not the same as yesterday; it is always greater, more demanding.
Let us pray in this Eucharist that we may be purified, that the conclusion of the Second Reading may become a reality in us, especially in those who have been called to govern in any sphere: I will prove my faith to you by works.
Let us pray that our daily works show that we do not pretend to be of this world, which today fears death more than ever, but does not fear eternal death, as Benedict XVI reminded us, does not fear the one who can destroy not only the body but also the soul(Mt 10: 28).
