Monsignor Daniel Delgado, Episcopal Vicar of the Immaculate Conception, Archdiocese of Bogota, to which belongs the parish of Our Lady of the Pillar, of the Idente missionaries, presided at the Mass of Thanksgiving for the 60 years of foundation of the Id Institute. The celebration took place on June 30 and was attended by about 80 people among children, youth and adults, members of the Idente Family and Idente Youth and belonging to both the parish and other sectors of Bogota.

During the homily the vicar highlighted several important aspects of the life and work of Fernando Rielo. Some of his words are transcribed below:

“Fernando Rielo was a man who, attending to the mission of the spirit of God as Elisha, as Paul or as Mary wanted to dedicate his life to the following of Christ, became a holy man through his life with his works, his inspirations, his writings. In 2004 he left for Father’s house, leaving a legacy to the Church, a legacy that we enjoy today, I refer to this parish community that we have inherited.

Fernando Rielo tells us: “Freedom sinks its roots in the metaphysical field. Freedom is placed in the very depths of the spirit, so it penetrates our deepest part, our essence because it allows or denies communication with the absolute subject, freedom allows or hinders communication with God, the supreme subject. Freedom comes from within, it is something metaphysical, it is related to the root in the relationship with God which is called Absolute Subject”.

Let us give grace to God for the founder’s call and free response. Let us give thanks for the work in different countries, for the priests, religious, missionaries, inspired by the Gospel and the teaching of the Founder, who continue to extend the Kingdom of God through their missionary life, the Motus Christi retreats, the care of parishes and the care of colleges and universities.”

After the Eucharist the spiritual lesson sent by the president of the Institute, Fr. Jesus Fernandez, was read, in which Monsignor Daniel Delgado was present, who also shared lunch with us, after which he had to leave. The Athenaeum was held after the meal, which added a touch of joy and gratitude to a celebration in which we emphasize the good taste with which everything was conducted.

No detail was neglected in the decoration of the parish church, with numerous signs of our Institute, nor at lunch, with tables full of flowers and even a really elegant anniversary cake. All of this and the enthusiasm with which the Athenaeum was held are proof of the generous participation of the Idente family from Bogotá.

This day was part of a whole week of activities, which took place between June 25 and 30, during which different videos were projected to make known the charism, the life of our founder Fernando Rielo and the different Idente missions.
