On September 21 Mons. Alfredo José Espinoza, sdb, Bishop of Loja (Ecuador), was so kind as to visit the idente community of Sevilla. It was a private visit on his way to Rome, owing to his affection for our Peruvian brother Juan César Ramírez Trujillo, who was ordained by him.
He was received in the residence of the men missionaries, located in the Parish of Our Lady’s Annunciation and Saint John XXIII. The Parish is set in John XXIII district and managed by the idente missionaries. The Bishop could also visit the adjacent buildings, including the Concilio Nursery School, which is part of the parish. During the hour he shared with the men and women idente missionaries of Sevilla, he expressed his gratitude, affection and proximity to the idente community of Loja. He recalled that a few days before he had presided at the launching mass of the yearly Ecuador Idente Mission, in which 130 young Ecuadorian students took part this year. He praised the work of the missionaries at Loja’s Private Technical University and on parting he gave thanks for the warm welcome he had received from the idente community of Sevilla, and left a few lines expressing his feelings in their guest book.
