Within the framework of the 60th anniversary of the Idente missionaries, in order to integrate the families of the Catholic University in Ibarra (Ecuador) and from “Victoria” school, a contest was organized for the daughters and sons of the teaching and administrative staff; for the students of the University and the school, who participated demonstrating their abilities and reflecting their skills.
There were 4 contests with 3 categories each: photography, painting, drawing and poetry. The central theme of the contests was “God, Nature and Society”, in which they sought to enhance through artistic creation some values such as respect, solidarity, charity, honesty, love, responsibility.
Salomé Salazar, a student at the School of Jurisprudence and a participant in the poetry contest, said: “This experience was truly enriching, not only as a student, but as a human being because I was able to transmit the love with which God created each being.
María Fernanda Hernández, student of the Catholic Educational Unit “La Victoria”, commented that the poetry contest in which she participated allowed her to integrate her family and indicated that through her composition she tried to raise awareness about caring for nature and love of life.
