On June 21 we celebrated a Mass in Wiang Pa Pao to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of our dear brothers Fr. Komkrit and Teerawit
For Fr. Fernando Real, General Procurator, who is visiting the community in Chiang Mai, was the first time to know this place. He was impressed by the work of our brother Fr. Komkrit in the 5 years of apostolic mission there. Every year we celebrate the Holy Mass here in presence of all the students, among whom only 3% are Catholics and some of the teachers. When the Mass started people were flowing from other places where our brother had given his charismatic smiling and his warm charity. The faithful of those places remembered him well and they joined the Mass in the typical dress of the different tribes of the north of Thailand ( Akat, Pakaño o Carren, Mohn, etc), the sisters of “Maria Bambina” and our sister Maria Angeles Cabana, provincial superior of Thailand, also came to this celebration with us.
In the Holy Mass presided over by our brother Francisco, provincial superior three of us concelebrated. Our brother Tanongsak said a beautiful homily about his personal experience with our brothers Teerawit and Thinnakorn of entering in probation and community life with our brother Komkrit. Years ago they also had done their religious vows in this church of Saint Therese in Wiang Pa Pao. Our brother Komkrit gave him the great motivation in the life of holiness. As a good educator and for his love and care for children he attracted everyone. So, Tanongsak gave thanks to our heavenly Father for the life of our brother Komkrit. He gave thanks to all, who joined us in the Holy Mass to commemorate anniversary of our beloved brothers Fr. Komkrit and Teerawit . There were around 200 people present in the church.
At the end of the Mass, all the students and parishioners of Wiang Pa Pao, sang a beautiful and emotional song in remembrance of our brother Komkrit, composed on the day of his funeral Mass by one of his old students. After the Mass we invited all the students to have some snacks.
Then the sisters of “Maria Bambina” warmly welcomed us to their community singing a nice song and playing guitar to invite to us to dinner with them, two congregations joined in memory of our brothers Fr. Eduardo, Komkrit and Teerawit.
We came back at night to Saraphee with a profund peace and joy and strong impression of the intercession from our departed brothers.
