“Do not be afraid to listen to the Spirit, who suggests courageous choices to you. Do not hesitate when your conscience asks you to take a risk to follow the Master” (Jan. 1, 2017). “Reality is superior to ideas” (EG 231).
These words of Pope Francis addressed to young people are preparing us for the International Motus Christi, which, as in past years, is being held in Atessa, Italy, at the St. Pasquale Convent, where a community of Idente Missionaries lives. Young people from different countries will meet for several days of retreat and, above all, to enjoy an experience of spiritual communion and sharing. In addition, we shall reflect together on what it means to aspire to holiness and how we can walk together on this path.
As the guiding theme, the Idente Missionaries have chosen the Beatitudes and the preparatory document for the Bishops’ Synod on Young People, which the Pope has called for to deal with the subject of “Young People, Faith, and Vocational Discernment.” The talks will consider three verbs with which Evangelii Gaudium (51) describes the path of someone aspiring to the highest joy and mission to which we are called: recognize, interpret, and choose.
