An artistic meeting in favour of the University Parish of Saint Peter and Saint Paul of Soa (Cameroon)

By 7 May, 2019January 3rd, 2023No Comments

On the afternoon of Saturday, May 4, an Artistic Solidarity Encounter was held in the Parish of San Agustín de Palma to raise funds for the mission that the Idente Missionaries have in Soa, north of Yaoundé, capital of Cameroon.

This Artistic Encounter is the twentieth that we have been carrying out in Palma and the second that has as objective the mission of Soa. All this because next summer will be the third anniversary of the twinning between the Parish of Palma and Soa, both managed by the Idente Missionaries.

As in previous editions, art is the central axis on which many people gather to celebrate solidarity, joy and the desire to meet and share hopes and objectives of a better world for all. On this occasion, the guitar, poetry and dance were the artistic modalities in which several young people and a university professor generously wanted to contribute their talent.

Especially exciting was the participation of young Cameroonian university students who, through a video, had sent their participation to this event while showing us the current status of the works being carried out there. We also read a letter sent by Efrén Blanco, Idente missionary and provincial superior of Cameroon, thanking the Balearic Islands for their collaboration in this African mission.

Thanks so much to all those who have collaborated in carrying out this meeting.
